We got lost and drove the long way around this lake. It was fucking magic. There’s no filter or photoshop on any of these.
Dotted around the lake are large houses, some in varying stages of construction, which are made with the money guys send back from working for minimum wage (etc) in the U.S. doing the hard labor that American’s don’t seem to want to do any more. They’re huge houses, too, on one of the most picturesque lakes I’ve ever seen with my eyes. And people treat them like shit in the U.S; all the while, they’re sending back money to build a dream home in basically Narnia.
So even though you just paid $14 for Eggs Benedict at the Waverly for your casual brunch this past Sunday, the guys who made it in the kitchen are living wisely and making a dream come true for them and their family. Who’s the real winner here?
